to drive livestock production
Agriness
in the world
Our history in livestock production
Since our foundation in 2001, we have developed solutions that help managing livestock production activities in a more organized and reliable way. Our first product was Agriness S2, a complete system for the integrated management of swine production, developed to support both the zootechnical and economic management of farms through the intelligent use of production information.
From the large volume of swine production data generated by Agriness S2, in 2007 we launched the first swine production database, initially in Brazil, which quickly became the main benchmark for swine production in the country and, then, throughout Latin America.
Currently, Agriness’ The Best of Swine Production gathers productivity data from Latin America, Europe and Asia, resulting in a transparent and reliable benchmark for swine production data and recording every year’s productivity records for the sector, based on information sharing and comparison.
The more than two decades of business knowledge in swine production allowed us to adapt and develop new solutions for poultry and dairy production, always with the objective of helping to make livestock production more productive and profitable, not only in Brazil, but worldwide.
Our milestones in animal production
2001
Inclusion and digital transformation of the agro
Agriness has its roots in the agro. It was experiencing the pig farming day-to-day together with the farmers and their people that we attained all the knowledge in animal production that brought us here.
In the early 2000s the management of most farms was still made with a pen and a notebook. The computer was still a rare and unaffordable item for a good part of the population. It was knowledge exchange with farmers every day which allowed us to provide digital inclusion for the agro. At that time, the main challenge was mistrust about the novelty - the computer. We helped many producers in the purchase and configuration of equipment, in addition to bringing them closer to Agriness's first pig farming management software. The participation of the producers' wives and children was also fundamental in this journey, not only because they helped to unveil the new world of information technology, but because their engagement in the farm management brought people closer together and helped young people to stay in the countryside and be part of the family business.
Unlike the other solutions available at the time, Agriness's system won over producers not only for the new technology, but also for representing, in a simple and didactic way, everything that happened on the farm. It was a real revolution in the management of pig production.
2006
Agriness Best of Pig Farming
With the increase in the number of clients and daily interactions, we realized that there was no benchmark on pig farming productivity rates. Among neighbors it was commented that this or that number was achieved, but without a light to guide farmers as to where to evolve from. It was from this opportunity that Agriness Best of Pig Farming was born, a benchmarking of pig farming, presented in a lively way, in a championship format. In addition to having a transparent and reliable database with references on productivity rates, farmers came to know the names and results of those who achieved the best performances each year. Agriness Best meant a new opportunity for farmers in order to compare, be inspired and seek better results, in a constant process of improvement.
The project, which was born in 2006 with just over 100 producers from Brazil, grew along with pig farming and currently enjoys the participation of more than 2000 farms in Latin America, Europe and Asia.
2013
Methodology for pig farming management
Over more than 10 years enhancing our knowledge of pig production, exchanging experiences with farmers and farm employees, we noticed a common issue. Many farmers would only feed the software and then not know how to analyze the data in order to understand the causes of productive problems or help them guide decision-making. Organizing data was a cleared stage, but it was only one part of the management process.
This need put us in a new position alongside the producers: we started to actively contribute to the processes of farm management and productivity increase. The P+1 Method, originally called Pensamento +1, arrived with the delivery of a systemic view of the production of a farm, in a simple way, represented on a sheet of paper. With the same simplicity characteristic of Agriness innovations, P+1 works as a step-by-step guide on how to get from point A to point B, focusing on increasing productivity out of the efficient use of the same available resources, aiming at maximum productive efficiency.
Today
Real-time management
With the evolution of the agro and the technology itself, Agriness delivers a new contribution to animal production. The “old” way of managing production, looking at data from zoo-technical events that had already happened, gave way to tools that allow real-time management, a mirror of what is happening in production at any time, allowing decisions to be made while the process is happening on the farm. And moreover, we extend the real-time vision to benefit the entire production chain: producers, technical teams and agribusinesses. Decision making based on "now" has arrived to transform the management of the entire industry over again.
Global prosperity
The desire to help livestock production prosper around the globe presented us with a very large connection with Cargill, a multinational company based in the state of Minnesota (USA), operating in more than 60 countries, whose activity is food production and processing.
In September 2018, a partnership between Agriness and Cargill was born, which gave rise to our largest innovation investment: the Agriness Platform, a management and intelligence platform for animal production. Today, our Innovation, Product and Technology sectors have more than 50 product, design, quality and software engineering professionals, as well as technical teams specialized in different species, fully dedicated to developing innovation to solve livestock production problems, adapted to different countries and cultures around the planet.

Innovation is part
of our DNA
For us, innovation is not an end. Innovation is a result that comes from the sum of restless minds, a spirit of achievement and people willing to always improve. This recipe has been fundamental in everything we have done so far, and will continue to be in what is yet to come. We are never satisfied because we believe that being better every day is a perfectly achievable goal – and livestock production has been proving that to us, day after day.
